Cover for the Cat is the ninth main mission in "The Heist" downloadable content for Marvel's Spider-Man. Spider-Man meets with Black Cat, who has received word that something valuable is being kept in the office at one of Hammerhead's gang locations. Spider-Man agrees to create a distraction so she can sneak inside unseen.

Story[]

Black Cat calls Spider-Man giving him a location, then hangs up before he can inquire more. Once there, she asks him to create a distraction, saying that a tip from an old friend told her that Hammerhead was keeping something valuable in the office above the bar, and that her son would be killed if she was seen there. Spider-Man draws the thugs out so she can sneak in.

After the two join forces, Black Cat reveals she has narrowed down the location of the vault where he son is being kept. When Spider-Man asks her if he is the father, she flirts with him instead and laments she was unable to give up thieving, before leaving and promising to call him if she needs help accessing the vault. Mary Jane Watson calls Spider-Man to tell him she is still decrypting the files on the laptop, and Spider-Man updates her. Meanwhile, Miles Morales updates Spider-Man, telling him he is playing basketball, and Spider-Man encourages him to keep his play believable, and promises to think about training Miles.

Walkthrough[]

This is primarily a combat mission, though after reaching the entrance Black Cat points to, stealth can be used to thin out the number of guards. The battle is relatively lengthy, and later into the mission, brutes, and Gatling gun brutes appear. When the Gatling gun brutes appear, Black Cat will also join the battle, helping fight the smaller thugs.

Web Bombs and Impact Webs are useful against the other brutes when used in enclosed spaces. The Suspension Matrix can be used both for the Web Bomb combo and for putting a few thugs out of commission while focusing down the larger brutes.

After this, citywide activities must be done before the next and final mission, "Follow the Money", is complete, at which point Mary Jane calls Spider-Man when she has decryped the laptop.
